Business Networking Breakfast Tuesday 7th June - Launch of free support for businesses who are likely to be employing carers

'1 in 9 working people are also looking after an older, ill or disabled loved one'

Can you afford to lose the people who make your business work?

Businesses are losing key staff and incurring recruitment costs because of the challenges faced by those people who are working and also helping to look after someone who is older, ill or disabled. Many carers feel that they have no choice but to give up work or reduce hours.

A carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who, due to illness, disability, or frailty could not cope without their support.

There is now free support available to businesses with less than 250 employees. West Sussex County Council have teamed up with Employers for Carers to provide free information and advice about good practice around helping to avoid losing key employees, because of difficulty juggling work responsibilities alongside providing support to a loved one.

The council is running a Business Networking Event in Crawley on the 7th June 8.30am -10.30am at Thomas Eggar offices, Belmont House, Station Way Crawley, RH10 1JA. If you would like to attend this free event please contact: jane.colliss@westsussex.gov.uk

Not able to make the breakfast event but want to know more.......
