Meet our Compere

John Young has been the proud host of gdb Re-Energise since 2018 — and is delighted to be back one final time this year.
Through his background as a BBC TV News presenter, John has worked with many gdb members to help them make complicated things clear, whether that’s been in their presentations to the Board, sales pitches to potential clients, or Staff Meetings on Teams.
But if you look closely at this headshot, you may notice that John is now a little older than when it was taken …
… which has made him realise it’s time for a change himself. So he plans to re-energise his own life by retiring from his business when he turns 60 this summer, to become a Magistrate, volunteer helping young people with employability skills in Sussex schools, and steep himself in his love for local history at Sussex’s Archive, The Keep!
