Woods Mill Nature Reserve: Guided Walk & Networking!
Join gdb and Sussex Wildlife Trust in late summer to observe a range of the species that call Woods Mill Nature Reserve home. Many of our birds are summer migrants and we'll look to learn which of them undertake extensive migrations and which are resident in the UK all year round.
At this time of year, the nature reserve comes alive with flashes of colour from a variety of flowering plants and a myriad of dazzling insects. We'll keep our eyes peeled for enchanting butterflies and iridescent dragon and damselflies, many of which have remained virtually unchanged for millions of years. It'll also be a perfect time to look for out for the reptiles and mammals that inhabit the meadows, waterways, reedbeds and ancient woodland.
The walk will last approximately 1.5 hrs, leaving time to network, and enjoy your own picnic after the event if you wish.
Please wear appropriate footwear and don't forget to bring sunscreen and a hat as there are a few exposed sections, particularly in the meadows. The reserve typically has dense foliage beside the footpaths, so long trousers may be a good idea to avoid the stinging nettles. Binoculars are advisable and feel free to bring your camera!
