Grab your golf clubs for local hospice golf challenge

Pack up your golf bags, gather your friends and head out for a day golfing at the New Horizons Appeal Charity Golf Challenge in aid of St Catherine's Hospice.

Taking place on Thursday 6 September 2018 at Rusper Golf Club, Rusper Road,
Newdigate, the golf challenge remembers Linda Catlow, who was cared for by St Catherine's. Linda's family have run golf events in her memory for six years and raised more than £35,000 for their local hospice. The golf challenge invites teams of four to come along for a great day out and play for Linda's Trophy.

This year's charity golf challenge begins with a Shotgun start at 9.30am and will be a Texas Scramble format, allowing golfers of all abilities to try their luck on the golf course. Coffee on arrival and a buffet lunch will also be included. Optional buggies and breakfast are also available by booking directly with Rusper Golf Club on 01293 871871.

Suzanne Connor, New Horizons Appeal Co-ordinator, said, "Money raised from this event will help provide local terminally ill people in your community with expert care when it's needed most. Currently, St Catherine's can only care for one in three local people who need it, but with your support, we can be there to care for everyone. This charity challenge is a great chance for you to show off your golfing skills and socialise with others who enjoy golf, whilst also supporting your local hospice."

The New Horizons Appeal is a voluntary fundraising group which has supported St Catherine's since 1989. Over the years, New Horizons fundraisers have raised more than £2 million, with the help of local people who attend their prestigious events, which also include a lunch club and Autumn Gift Fair at Knepp Castle in September.

If you would like to take part in the charity golf challenge, please email: newhorizons@stch.org.uk or call 01293 447367. Entries are £200 per team (for four players over 16 years old) and mixed teams are welcome.
