Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM has strengthened its senior M&A team in the South East with the appointment of Sarah Barry as a director.

Sarah, who has relocated from London to work from RSM’s offices in Tunbridge Wells, Bromley, Guildford and Gatwick, is a licensed M&A practitioner with over 10 years of experience advising business owners and company boards on buying and selling businesses, management buy-outs and raising growth capital.

Sarah joins the firm’s Southern M&A team covering Kent, Sussex and Surrey, led by corporate finance partner Kirsty Sandwell and supported by associate directors Sarah Nichols and Alex Milne.

Kirsty Sandwell, head of corporate finance in the South said: ‘I’m delighted to welcome Sarah to the M&A team in the South East. She brings with her a wealth of experience which will be invaluable to businesses across the region.’

Last month, RSM was named by Experian as the most active M&A adviser in the South East. In total, the firm advised on 35 deals in the region in 2017, despite a decline in the market overall.

RSM corporate finance team in the South East now comprises 35 specialist advisers across M&A and private equity, capital markets, due diligence, financial modelling and PLC advisory. The RSM team often works with businesses for several years before an event, providing strategic advice to help maximise shareholder value.
