Update from Crawley Open House

Crawley Open House is still open - we have 26 vulnerable residents as usual, and the day centre remains partially open offering limited services and telephone appointments to those who need them most. Demand for food parcels has shot up, and we are working with the Council and police to temporarily house, feed and care for ALL rough sleepers locally.

Our main current concern is the health of our staff and residents/clients - we have been fortunate so far, but we are exploring with the Council and local agencies the possibilities to isolate vulnerable clients safely should the need arise.

We are running out of food for food parcels and our kitchen, as understandably donors are not coming to our gate so readily. Our understanding is that looking after the vulnerable is still classed as an essential activity, so if you hear of anyone with a few of the following they are willing to donate we would be so grateful…

  • UHT milk
  • Tinned meat and fish
  • Tinned vegetables and potatoes
  • Bottles of squash
  • Pasta sauces and cooking sauces
  • New socks and underwear
