Siblings' Tennis Day at Field Place

Last week, some siblings of children who are cared for by Chestnut Tree House children's hospice were treated to a smashing tennis day at Field Place Tennis Club in Worthing.

Tennis coach, Colin Piper from Smash Tennis UK headed up the event, which kicked off with some warmup drills and forehand and backhand practice before some friendly competitions, such as the longest rally.

Speaking about the importance of sibling events, Melanie Newman at Chestnut Tree House says, "Growing up with a brother or sister who has a life-shortening condition isn't easy, and finding people who understand your situation can be difficult. Our sibling events give children the chance to meet others facing the same challenges, make some new friends, and express themselves in a safe environment.

"We had a really lovely time at the event, and I'd like to say a big thank you to Colin for his amazing coaching, and to our wonderful supporters for making events like this possible."
