Your business and tax updates from Carpenter Box

Welcome to our July newsletter.

We've now reached the final stage of the lockdown restrictions easing. Although this is largely good news for businesses who are finally able to re-open, they are now having to deal with the disruption caused by staff self-isolating in what the media are terming a 'pingdemic'. Although limits on social contact have been removed there are still a number of precautions in place and we've provided a summary of these in a COVID-19 Summer update below.

This month we were delighted to attend the launch of the 2021 Adur & Worthing Business Awards. We're excited that the awards are now back after a hiatus in 2020 due to COVID. There are 18 categories to enter and we are pleased to be sponsoring the Manufacturing & Engineering category again. It really is a fantastic awards scheme so we encourage you to enter. You can find out the details below.

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax is coming into force from 2023. Find out if you will be affected and watch our recent webinar for landlords which provides a useful overview of the upcoming changes.

If you own or run an international business we've provided a number of useful articles including details on Key Person Cover, as well as potential changes to the UK transfer pricing requirements and hybrid mismatch rules.

Finally we have our monthly update from the Financial Advisers team which includes economic and market news in the UK and overseas.

Whether you are enjoying a 'staycation' in the UK or travelling abroad, we hope you have a wonderful Summer break.
