London Gatwick has welcomed Eurowings as a new airline partner, with the launch of two new routes connecting passengers to Cologne and Stuttgart this summer.
The Lufthansa Group carrier began operating a choice of 13 weekly flights to Cologne on 29 March, offering Eurowings’ only UK connection to the city.
And in addition, yesterday (14 April) the airline added a six-times-weekly service to Stuttgart, further strengthening London Gatwick’s links with Germany.
Both routes will operate from the airport’s North Terminal, providing convenient access for business and leisure travellers, with onward connectivity across Eurowings’ European network.
Jonny Macneal, Head of Aviation Development, London Gatwick said: “Welcoming Eurowings to London Gatwick for the first time is great news for both the airport and our passengers. Cologne and Stuttgart are important destinations for business, leisure and for people visiting friends and family, and these new services enhance our strong European short-haul offering. We’re delighted to be supporting Eurowings’ growth this summer and look forward to a successful partnership.”
Reinald Frankewitz, Head of Network Relations, Eurowings said: “We are excited to launch our first services from London Gatwick and connect the airport with two of Germany’s strongest cultural and economic regions. These new routes to Cologne and Stuttgart offer passengers even greater choice and convenience, whether travelling for business or leisure, while further strengthening connectivity between the UK and Germany.”
The new routes build on London Gatwick’s extensive short-haul network and reinforce the airport’s role as a key gateway between the UK and Europe.
Eurowings joins recent arrivals at London Gatwick, including Jet2 , Air France , Condor and Animawings , with AirAsia X, Air Arabia, Beijing Capital and Pegasus all set to begin flying in coming weeks.
