London Gatwick gears up for biggest summer since 2019 as record number of airlines take off

  • London Gatwick has more than 230 destinations on offer this summer – the most since 2019
  • 62 airlines, including eight new carriers, will offer passengers a broad choice of flights across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North America, the Caribbean and Africa
  • Emirates have recently launched a fourth daily Dubai service, bringing Premium Economy back to London Gatwick

London Gatwick is gearing up for its busiest and most exciting summer season since 2019, with a record number of airlines, fresh destinations and expanded long-haul options giving passengers more choice than ever before.

The first in a number of new services launched earlier this month with Emirates welcoming its fourth-daily flight to Dubai. Operated on Airbus A350 – the first to serve England – the service re-introduces Premium Economy for London Gatwick passengers and offers the latest departing Dubai–Europe flight of any airline, giving holidaymakers even more time in the city before heading home.

And that’s just the start. This summer, London Gatwick passengers will be able to choose from more than 230 destinations across Europe, North America, the Caribbean, Asia, the Middle East and Africa – the airport’s broadest network since 2019.

With 62 airlines operating from Gatwick this summer, passengers will enjoy the airport’s widest choice of carriers ever, including eight new arrivals - Jet2, AirAsia X, Condor, Air Arabia, Air France, Eurowings, Animawings and Beijing Capital Airlines. Existing carriers are also expanding their connectivity.

Royal Air Maroc will begin serving Tetouan in Morocco twice weekly from 29 March, Norwegian will strengthen the airport’s ties to Denmark with a new service to Aalborg from 2 April, while Air Transat will launch a new route to Canadian capital Ottawa from 15 May. SWISS will also be increasing the frequency of its Zurich service to twice-daily from 29 March.

Jonny Macneal, Head of Aviation Development, London Gatwick said:“Emirates’ fourth daily flight is a fantastic start to what will be our most exciting and varied summer season in years. With new airlines joining the airport, new destinations launching and major frequency increases across our network, passengers will enjoy even more choice for holidays, business trips and long-haul adventures. We’re proud to offer one of the UK’s most comprehensive route networks and we look forward to welcoming even more passengers this summer.”
