Rebecca Warren Joins Thakeham

Published: 13 Oct 2020

South East-based home builder Thakeham Group has appointed Rebecca Warren as its new Director OxCam Arc. Rebecca will play a key role in strategic planning of new sustainable communities and supporting wider growth within the region.

A previous UK Top-20 planning lawyer Rebecca joins Thakeham after three years as planning director at Crest Nicholson. Before that, Rebecca was a head of development planning at Pinsent Masons for five years. She has also previously been a partner at Clarke Willmott LLP

Rebecca is Midlands Chair of the Housing Building Federation (HBF) Forum and brings over 23 years’ experience working in property planning on large scale residential projects. She was a trusted advisor on the development of 3,520 new homes plus community facilities on 250-acres at Manydown in Hampshire. Rebecca also offered legal and masterplan advice in the 2,450-home Kingsmere development in South Bicester.

Rebecca Warren said: “I’m excited to be joining Thakeham at a time when the business is growing quickly. At this stage in my career, I wanted a challenge relatively early in the business growth journey, so I can help shape the aspiration and the vision.

“I think, as you get older, it’s important that the vision and values of an organisation align those of the people who lead it. That’s why, Thakeham’s new plans for growth by 2030 and the vision for zero-carbon sustainable placemaking were a big part of my decision to join the company. I can’t wait to get started.”

Last month, Thakeham Group confirmed its plans for growth: sharing ambition to be a Top 10 housebuilder in just 10 years. They also committed to delivering a zero-carbon based approach to sustainable, infrastructure-led communities, leading on biodiversity and the environment.

The plan - called ‘Thakeham30’ - includes specific targets for growth and represents a joint commitment to inspire staff, contractors, partners and homeowners.

Thakeham chief executive officer Rob Boughton said: “Rebecca is joining the Thakeham family at an important strategic time for the business. We are especially excited to have her on board.

“Her achievements speak for themselves. We know colleagues and partners alike will value her proven expertise in, and shared passion for, planning and sustainable placemaking.”

By 2030 Thakeham Group expects to be a Top 100 employer in the UK and employ over 1,000 staff. In addition, they will deliver 3,200 homes annually with a Net Promoter score of over 60. Accelerated sustainability targets will see them realise Zero Carbon in their new homes, sites, and offices by 2025.
