no26_355

With government restrictions easing this week, it is vital that people keep coming forward for their first vaccination in order to protect themselves, their family and friends and Keep Sussex Safe. To date more than 76% of our total population has had their first vaccination, and more than 50% have had both. However, in particular in those aged 18-29 there are around 80,000 people still to come forward. There are hundreds of vaccines available every single day in our vaccination services - and most are now walk in so you don't even need an appointment. See where you can get yours this week.
You can come with friends and family - make sure you get your vital protection. One example why: 28-year-old Henry spoke to @BBCHughPym from his hospital bed after getting seriously ill with coronavirus. He describes feeling like he was dying and his advice to others is to get the vaccine.

Reminder - second dose at 8 weeks

nhs_293

All of our sites are coming under increasing pressure from people asking for their second dose early. We are very sorry for any frustration caused but the national programme is clear that people should have their second vaccine at 8 weeks from the date of their first. Our vaccination teams are following this, and will offer anyone their second dose if they have reached the 8 week mark. The exception to this is if someone is about to start immunosuppressant treatment; if this is the case please speak to your medical team.
