Custodian MD to walk barefoot across hot coals to raise money for Challengers charity.
Published: 03 Nov 2021
On Saturday the 13th of November, Zahid Naqvi, Founder and Managing Director of Custodian Insurance, will be doing the ‘Firewalk challenge’ to raise £1000 in aid of Challengers.
For many children and young people with disabilities, Challengers provides a unique environment staffed by great people who commit to ensuring that every child is welcomed, included and feels comfortable. Outside of Challengers, there is a woeful shortage of such facilities and with fundings cut, Challengers relies heavily on fundraising to deliver its excellent service.
Zahid Naqvi, the Managing Director of Custodian Insurance, is also a member of the challengers business club, which is another excellent way that businesses can support this charity.
Ironically, he enjoys activities involving swimming and water in his personal time, but hopefully, there will be no water required for this event…!
This is the first time he has done anything like this and, apart from hoping that he does not combust, he is mainly hoping that he can raise as much as possible for this fantastic local charity.
Zahid has pledged to raise as much over £1000 as possible for Challengers and any sponsorship, whatever size Challengers would appreciate. If you wish to donate, you can at the just giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/custodian-insurance
This is a charity really close to his heart, as one of his daughters has autism. So he knows first-hand what an important charity Challengers are and the level of commitment the team there have in creating such a unique, inclusive and rare space for this group of people.
Zahid Naqvi, Founder and Managing Director of Custodian Insurance, said: “When I saw this event, I thought it would be a lovely way to help Challengers. So I will put my best foot forward on those 500-degree coals and think of England (or whatever else they tell me to think about to survive it!). “I look forward to the Firewalk and hope I will be able to raise as much as possible for the Challengers charity, and I’ve been told video proof is required....”
