Let Christmas Begin!

The Mary How Trust are back with their Community Christmas Carol Evening ‘Let Christmas Begin’ at St Marys Church Pulborough on Wednesday 13th December.

This is a chance for people to get together and sing the sounds of the season whilst supporting well-loved local charity and GDB members The Mary How Trust for Cancer Prevention.

The Mary How Trust offers health screenings to men and women to spot the early signs of cancer and other illness. Instead of a fee they invite donations based on ability to pay, so people from all walks of life can take action to stay well. The service is entirely donor-supported.

“We have an ever-growing need for this life saving service. More and more people want to use our screening service but simply can’t afford to make a donation ” says Jamie Clark, Head of Fundraising, Events and Marketing.

“We are unique in working on a donate what you can afford basis. Cancer rates are on the rise and the current cost of living crisis means people are struggling more than ever. We want to carry on increasing our screening numbers. Early detection saves lives!”

Doors open at 6.30pm with Carols from 7.00pm. It’s a fantastic opportunity to start the Christmas celebrations early and sing all of your favourite carols, led by the Chanctonbury Chorus, with solos by Sussex based soprano Lucy Mair.

“This will be a brilliant evening with warm mulled wine, mince pies and all your Christmas favourites . It’s FREE entry on the evening but you are welcome to book in advance with full details on our website. All proceeds will go to further develop our health screening services. This is a special event and is not to be missed” added Jamie.
