Unlocking refugees’ talent: Building pathways to employability

An initiative of the University of Sussex Business School and the Launchpad Collective

5pm - 8pm (doors open at 4.30pm)

Are you part of an organisation, small or large, that’s committed to creating an inclusive workplace and actively working toward it? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

At the University of Sussex Business School (https://www.sussex.ac.uk/business-school/), a team of researchers is collaborating with local organisation The Launchpad Collective (https://thelaunchpadcollective.org/) on an exciting project aimed at developing practical solutions to help refugees unlock their skills’ potential, through self-employment or employment in local businesses.

While employing refugees brings a wide range of benefits, from introducing diverse perspectives and addressing skill shortages to demonstrating your organisation’s commitment to social responsibility, many challenges remain.

This workshop invites you to join a collective conversation about both the opportunities and constraints of employing refugees in the region. Together, we’ll explore how we can co-create accessible, effective pathways to employment that truly support refugee talent.

Why We Need Your Input

  • We want to learn from your real-world experience as an employer in the region.
  • We want to tap into your problem-solving expertise to help identify meaningful pathways and the types of support that could make them a reality.

The event will feature insights from leading experts and practitioners on the regional employment and career landscape, inspiring refugee stories, and plenty of opportunities for open discussion and networking.

Food and drinks will be served during the networking session.
