Jaffer's appointment will see him bring a wealth of experience to the board of the BHBPA.

Having begun his career in the agricultural supply sector, he was appointed UK director of Burson Marsteller, part of the Young & Rubicam advertising group, working with clients world-wide on aligning company culture to the image portrayed of them in marketing campaigns.

He left in 1989 to found his own management consultancy, specialising in company culture and communication. But in 1999 with digital technology beginning to transform the way businesses worked and engaged, he founded managed IT solutions provider, E-mpower.IT.

"As a business we have a strong track record in supporting companies that are ambitious in their growth plans or already have a strong growth record," says Jaffer. "A number of our clients started with us as one-man bands and have grown to become multi-million pound companies for whom we still provide outsourced IT services.

"So, I am very familiar with the issues faced by companies as they expand and prosper. As a director of BHBPA, I hope to use that experience to add value to the incredible work it already does on behalf of our business community."
