Local hospice opens new shop in Redhill

St Catherine's Hospice opened its doors to a brand new shop in Station Road, Redhill on Friday (27 April).

Hospice patients from St Catherine's Day Hospice in Woodhatch, Reigate opened the shop with a ribbon cutting before the public arrived. They were joined by staff from three local companies; Santander Consumer Finance, Aon Risk Services and Morrisons Solicitors, who also donated good quality items to the shop ahead of its opening.

Jordan Clarke from Morrisons Solicitors said, "The opening of the new Redhill shop is a fantastic achievement for St Catherine's and a great addition to the local community. The expert care the hospice provides is inspiring and the shops are an important part of their work. I'd encourage everyone to get behind this fantastic cause and to pop in and donate what they can to their local St Catherine's shop."

Redhill is an important town in the northern part of Sussex and Surrey where St Catherine's cares for people, mostly in the comfort of their own homes. The local charity's larger shop premises will help raise more money to care for more local people.

Wayne Stepney, Retail Development Manager at St Catherine's said: "It was great to welcome so many people into our shop on Friday. During the opening there was a real buzz and I'd like to thank everyone who came out to join us. We're proud of the quality of goods and furniture we have for sale and we hope our customers found some bargains."

Dawn Westlake, Redhill Shop Manager said, "Visiting our shop is a simple way for you to support your local hospice. Without your support, we can't provide care to local people in your community. I'm looking forward to meeting more of you over the coming weeks and raising awareness of our work. Please remember us if you're having a spring clear out too. Your donations help raise vital funds so local people receive care when it's needed most."
