University-led Innovation for small to medium-sized businesses

Welcome to our first RISE friends and members newsletter!

We are delighted to see so many businesses join already and to hear such positive feedback. We're excited to be part of your innovation journey and hope that our unique project can support and drive the innovation your business needs to remain competitive, evolve and grow.

A massive thank you to our local business networks for their support over the last few months. Particular thanks to: Billingshurst and Horsham Chamber of Commerce, Brighton and Hove Economic Partnership, Coast to Capital, East Grinstead Business Association, Haywards Heath Business Association, Gatwick Diamond Business Association, Worthing and Adur Chamber of Commerce and, last but by no means least - the Economic Development Officers from West Sussex District and Borough Councils.

MEMBER UPDATE

RISE launches at Better Business Show

Over 500 people attended the first post lockdown in-person business exhibition in the county last month at the Better Business Show.

We meet some fantastic businesses - thank you to the Worthing and Adur Chamber of Commerce for running such a great event!

RISE Recovery workshops series launched

Our first workshop, Getting Fit for Innovation with innovation expert John Bessant, was well received - businesses learnt how to get ready to move from idea to creating value.

This was closely followed by our Innovation for New Business Development workshop, which featured Piglets Pantry's story of their inspirational innovation pivot during the first lockdown.

Thanks to our speakers, Jo Hunter for our afternoon tea treats, and to Ricardo for the use of their Centenary Innovation Centre in Shoreham.
