The Mary How Trust for Cancer Prevention is an independent, CQC registered, West Sussex charity. For over 33 years the Trust has provided a health screening service which aims to spot the early signs of life-threatening illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, bowel cancer, prostate cancer, and abdominal aortic aneurysm.
The current Trustees provide a diverse range of skills and knowledge. However, the Charity is growing in size and stature, and, in consequence, we are looking to recruit new Trustees to our Board. This is an exciting time to join us as the Trust develops its future vision.
You will use your skills and experience gained from other sectors or roles, along with energy and enthusiasm, to guide the charity through exciting times. You will secure the governance of the organisation, contribute to our strategic future and act as an ambassador for all aspects of our work.
All candidates will need to demonstrate a strong passion and commitment to the charity, its values and objectives. A proven track record of sound judgement and effective decision making, strong inter-personal and relationship building abilities, tact and diplomacy, with the ability to listen and engage effectively.
We would particularly welcome people with Clinical/Medical, Law, Health & Safety/or Fundraising/Marketing experience, but this is not essential. We offer a tailored induction, the opportunity to learn new skills and the satisfaction that you are helping people in your local community.
