Harbour Oysters x Sussex Bay ‘Oyster Scrub’, Littlehampton – 11:00-13:00

Fancy getting your hands wet for nature? Please join us to help clean 5,000 native oysters before they go into their new home in Littlehampton Harbour.

Spaces are limited and filling up, so please book your free place soon. A huge thank you to everyone who has already signed up to help.

Join Harbour Oysters, Littlehampton Harbour and Sussex Bay on Wednesday 25 November 2026 for a fun, hands-on opportunity to help restore our coastal waters.

Native oysters are amazing, each capable of filtering over 150 litres of water a day, helping to improve water quality and create habitats for marine life. By giving them a good scrub before they enter the harbour, you'll be playing a direct part in bringing these once-abundant species back to our Sussex coastline.

It's completely free, no experience or equipment is needed, and children aged eight and over are welcome with an accompanying adult.

Book your free place:

We scrub oysters to remove unwanted organisms, so they can be safely introduced without putting the existing marine ecosystem at risk. This work forms part of the region's first ever blueprint for seascape recovery. Funded by Sussex Bay and based upon meaningful collaboration with wonderful partners and communities.

Thank you to everyone involved. We cannot wait to see you there.
