Staff from Intact Insurance tackle 770 mile cycle for air ambulance

A group of seven determined cyclists from Intact Insurance in Horsham are set to take on an extraordinary endurance challenge this June, cycling from Glasgow to Horsham in memory of their friend, Dan Corrick, and to support the lifesaving work of Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS).

Covering 770 miles over eight days, the team will push themselves to the limit as they honour Dan, who sadly passed away in 2022. KSS played a vital role in caring for Dan and giving his family the chance to say their last goodbyes. At the heart of the challenge is Dan’s friend, Jason Foyle, who has brought six colleagues together for this unique event.

The ride, taking place from 22 to 29 June, will see the group visit 10 Intact Insurance UK offices across the country and aims to raise vital funds to help KSS continue delivering critical care by air and road across Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

Speaking about the challenge, Rebecca Ussher, Corporate Partnerships Manager at KSS, said: “This is an incredibly powerful and personal challenge, driven by friendship, loss, and a shared determination to make a difference. Jason and the team have shown remarkable commitment, and we are so grateful that they have chosen to support KSS in this way. Their efforts will help ensure we can continue to be there for patients and families when they need us most.”

Jason Foyle, who has organised the ride in memory of his friend, added: “This challenge is for Dan. We wanted to do something meaningful that reflects the impact KSS had and channels that into helping others. Cycling from Glasgow to Horsham will be tough, but it’s nothing compared to what many patients go through. We’re proud to support KSS and hope people will get behind us along the way.”

Paramedic Stu Plumbley, the KSS Patient and Family Aftercare Lead, will be joining the group for the final leg from Reading to London and finishing at Horsham.
