The team will provide updates to employers on recent changes in employment law and refreshers on good practice, as well as facilitating an opportunity for attendees to discuss their own challenges, experiences, and expertise.
Employment Club will be meeting for the first time in our Brighton Office on Thursday 21 May 2026 at 8.30am, and our team will be discussing:
- How to Effectively Manage Sickness Absence and Capability Procedures, including:
- Dealing with unreliable fit notes;
- Applying absence triggers and the Bradford Factor without discriminating;
- Special considerations for mental health issues;
- Handling pregnancy-related sickness absences; and
- What to do when an employee won’t engage or cooperate.

Employment Club will take place in our Brighton Office on the third Thursday of every other month, from 8:30-10:30am. It is free to attend, and tea, coffee, and breakfast pastries will be provided.
