West Sussex - Free Help available to employers supporting unpaid carers

Carers Support West Sussex (CSWS) is offering FREE HELP to West Sussex based employers supporting unpaid carers. We have launched the Carers in Employment project focused on helping employers recognise carers early, support managers, and reduce avoidable pressure on staff attendance, wellbeing, and retention.

This is a West Sussex initiative aimed at improving how local employers identify and support employees who have caring responsibilities. Our aim is to work closely with employers to promote and embed practical solutions to create carer-friendly workplaces. This includes developing resources, delivering training and working with employers to foster new ways of working.

Many carers don’t identify as carers — they’re parents, partners, sons or daughters — but caring often has a real impact on work and wellbeing.

We’re inviting employers to take one or more simple actions:

1.Book a short exploratory conversation

  • acknowledge carers in your workforce
  • signpost to confidential support
  1. Share our Carers in Employment leaflets

We’re happy to tailor our support to your organisation and build on what you already have in place.
