I work with people in sales and leadership to help them be better at the human side of what they do.
I am Matt Townshend, founder of Cotential. With over 30 years in strategic selling, key account management and sales leadership, I now work as a coach, trainer and fractional sales director with SME businesses and larger organisations across the UK with focus on the South East.
My approach is coach-led in everything I do. I believe people already have more of the answers than they realise. My job is to help them find those answers and show up with more confidence, clarity and purpose.
I work across three areas. Sales development, helping salespeople and teams build the skills and mindset to have better conversations, win more business and retain the clients they already have. Sales leadership and executive coaching, helping leaders become more coachlike, lead their teams more effectively and develop the people around them. And as a fractional sales director, working inside SME businesses on a retained basis to provide the commercial leadership and people development that growing businesses need but are not yet ready to hire full time.
Resilience and wellbeing run through all of it. Sales and leadership are demanding and the human side of that is something I take seriously, as a qualified mindfulness coach and mental health advocate.
The name Cotential comes from potential and collaboration and coaching, doing it together. That is exactly what the work is about: unlocking what is already there.
