A new fundraising event taking place this summer is inviting participants to test their courage, by walking across hot coals or even LEGO bricks, all in support of local families.
Designed to be both challenging and family-friendly, the event offers two very different experiences. Participants can choose the Fire Walk, where they will walk barefoot across hot embers, or the LEGO Walk, a deceptively tough challenge involving crossing a path of LEGO bricks. Those feeling particularly brave also have the option to take on both.
Set in the grounds of Sharnfold Farm, the event is expected to attract supporters of all ages, with organisers encouraging friends, families and the wider community to attend, take part or cheer participants on.
The Children’s Respite Trust provides respite care and support for children with additional needs and their families across Sussex. Funds raised through events like this help ensure the charity can continue delivering vital services and opportunities for the families it supports.
Jo Carr, the Fundraising and Events Assistant at the Children's Respite Trust, said the event is about more than just the challenge: “This is a fun and memorable way for people to step outside their comfort zone while making a real difference. Every participant helps us continue supporting families who rely on our services.”
The evening aims to combine a lively summer atmosphere with a strong community spirit, offering a unique way for people to get involved in fundraising.
