Carpenter Box, part of the Sumer Group, has demonstrated its commitment to recognising and developing talent with 18 promotions across the firm.

Newly promoted Tax Director Claire Huckle joined the firm 10 years ago and has 20 years’ experience as an FCCA-qualified accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser. Claire advises businesses and their owners across various sectors on advisory and compliance tax work, specialising in HMRC enquiries, corporation tax, employment taxes and Seed & Enterprise Investment Schemes. 

Nikki Martin, also now a Tax Director, is a Chartered Tax Adviser working as part of the International Tax team. Nikki advises individuals on personal tax residency, domicile, long term residency status, global mobility, and inheritance tax planning including the use of trust structures and family investment companies. 

Tabitha Nicholls has become Associate Director (Business Services). Tabitha joined Carpenter Box in 2017 and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2021. She works with a broad portfolio of SMEs, supporting them with their ongoing compliance requirements and providing practical, day-to-day business advice.

Reece Jordan is now Associate Director within StarBox, the firm's specialist accountancy service for influencers, content creators and businesses in the creator economy. Reece is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and works with a diverse portfolio of SMEs. He enjoys going beyond the numbers, helping businesses to understand their strengths and weaknesses, enabling them to design solutions to achieve their business and financial goals.

Mike Davis has been appointed Operations Manager, supporting the delivery of internal projects across the firm. He joined Carpenter Box in 2018, training within the Business Services team before qualifying in 2024. Having already played a key role in several firm-wide initiatives, Mike brings valuable experience in implementing new systems, improving processes and supporting operational change.

Rachael Tayler has been promoted to Marketing Business Partner. Since joining the firm in 2014 after graduating with a degree in Marketing, she has built extensive experience in financial services marketing and is now a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. In her new role, Rachael will lead Carpenter Box’s marketing strategy, while strengthening the alignment between regional priorities and the wider Sumer Group strategy.

Completing the senior appointments, Kira McKinney has moved from her position as Communications Director to become Clients & Growth Director. The newly created role reflects the continued evolution of Carpenter Box’s approach to client relationships and growth. Kira will focus on strengthening the client experience, supporting business development and helping to drive sustainable growth across the firm.

Alongside these appointments, Carpenter Box has promoted a further 11 colleagues to Senior Manager, Manager and Assistant Manager roles across a range of departments.
