Sussex is as big as it is diverse at about 111 kms from the western most tip near Rowlands Castle to the most easterly point at Camber and with 220 kms of coast. Even if you have lived here all your life, I can guarantee there is probably a corner of Sussex you have never visited.
Go and explore the unknown
So, if you live in West Sussex, head over to Hasting Country Park in the east for the day and explore rugged woodland paths that dip and dive with the cliff tops, or walk the Pevensey Levels and head down to Cooden Bay for lunch on the beach.
If you live in East Sussex, why not go and explore Chichester Harbour for the day? Learn about the Bosham Vikings, catch the smallest ferry or take a boat ride and try and spot dolphins. Or walk a section of the Serpent Trail and discover remote heathlands and sculpture.
The Sussex weekend challenge
It doesn’t matter if you are a history buff, a foodie, a nature lover or all of the above, even if you only have a day or half a day, by exploring somewhere completely new, you can recreate that holiday feeling, that sense that you have been away, had a change of scenery and done some exploring.
Be inspired
There is a mountain of inspiration on the Sussex Exclusive website and my challenge to you this weekend is to go and visit somewhere you have never visited in Sussex before. Medieval ruins, sandy beaches, country mansions, foodie hotspots, vineyards, undiscovered walks, just grab a map (or a map app) and see what you can find.
