The charity for East Surrey Hospital, which serves people across much of the Gatwick Diamond has unveiled its new name, a new look, and launched a major appeal to transform the local childrens ward.
The charity has also launched a dedicated Cancer Fund, to enhance diagnosis, treatment, and support for people with cancer right here in the Gatwick Diamond.
We’re also excited to share that the Crawley Innovation Centre officially opened this month. The Centre is set to become a thriving hub for innovation across the region. One of our grant recipients, Naked Energy, will soon be moving in—making this a fantastic opportunity to be part of Crawley’s growing green tech community.

Our two-day Easter Festival is our biggest event of the year and there’s always a great atmosphere. This year’s event runs Easter Sunday, April 20, and Easter Monday, April 21.
Spring Statement March 2025
Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, held the Spring Statement on Wednesday 26 March 2025. In the run up to the event, the Chancellor stated that she ‘remains committed to one major fiscal event a year to give families and businesses stability and certainty on upcoming tax and spending changes and, in turn, to support the government’s growth mission’.
The Chancellor did meet her commitment that there would be no major tax announcements, but tax is only one side of the equation. The other is spending, and the Spring Statement confirmed a number of the measures recently announced, namely:
• Cuts to the welfare state
• Cuts to the civil service
• Increase in defence spending
There were also announcements about the rollout of the Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax project which are covered later in this document.
